Grandparents Day is September 8 th this year. For those of us who still have our grandparents this can be a fun day to let them know we are thinking of them. However, gifting to our grandparents can be difficult. Most already have all that they need and don’t want us spending our hard earned cash on them.
I am still blessed to have my grandmother in my life. She turned 91 this year and is still going strong. She needs nothing in life so I often donate money to charitable organizations in her name. She prefers it goes to the cause of my choosing, but if your grandparents have specific causes close to their hearts they would be overjoyed with your thoughtfulness.
Another go to when it comes to gifting for my grandmother is sending her photos. She has photos all over her house of her family. Since we don’t live near each other these photos help me share my life with her while we can’t be physically close.
I found a cool alternative to the traditional photo gift route that might be a fun option for your grandparents one year. In the Rosemarsh etsy store you can buy a custom sketch portrait from your own photo. They are $50 and beautiful, you can check them out here .
My final gift I keep in the rotation is of course, consumables. When it comes to my grandmother I keep this as personal as possible by only gifting her items that come from my local area or places I have traveled to and picked up while away. This year I’ve sent her some local jams and jellies from Mad River Farms, located about 5 miles from my house. Talk about local! The cost for me to put this together is $15.
